I have an event mid-December and have fallen in love with this dress.

I am a good size 14 but only 4ft 11 so it won't be too short on me. But cam anyone tell me if FC comes up small?

I didn't really want to spend £160 though, I sort of had a higher end budget of £100 as I doubt I'd wear it again.

I never usually post on these boards as I'm not very fashionable (probably hence me being shocked at £160 for a dress 😁)

What is it in particular you like about this one? Is it the flowers? That’ll help us find something similar.

Why not just rent it for £32? Seems better than spending £100 for another dress you don't like as much for a one off?

@Moirarosesgarden I have a lovely black sequinned one but it's for an early morning graduation so I thought flowers were less glitzy?

I see it says rent for 4 days. But I'd need to try it now to see if a 14 or 16 would fit. And the event isn't until mid December.

There's a small boutique near me who only has a size 14 in it. Would it be unethical to go and try it on in there and see if the 14 fit then I'd know to rent a 14? And if it was too snug I'd know to go for a 16?

I've rented from other places not FC but imagine it's all similar? Definitely not unethical but just the sensible thing to do (also an idea to order both sizes to try and return via Klarna or similar). Other sites allow you to book the rental in advance, see if it's possible so you know you will have it for the event.
