How to style long sleeve sequin top for Christmas party?

I’m going to my Christmas do and have bought a lovely high necked long sleeve sequin top which I want to wear. It looks great paired with high waist leather look leggings but it’s not really Christmas party vibes (my office get very dressed up!).
How would you style is? Black mini skirt? I’ve found a midi skirt in Zara which is sheer from halfway down but not sure how that’ll look!

When you say your office get very dressed up, what do you mean? As in, black tie?!

I love the sound of the midi, especially with the right heels...or satin bias-cut midi maybe? Or what about a tiered tulle type skirt?

Not black tie but just like glitzy!! Girls get tans and blow dries, full glitter dresses etc!
I’ve tried a satin skirt but with my mum tum it looks awful especially as the top is between full length and cropped so lower stomach is on show! I’m only a 10-12 but have a little roll of fat on lower stomach.
Tulle skirt sounds good I’ll look into that!

Accessories (glitzy earring) and shoes can make an outfit more glitzy.

I would wear it with a leather mini like this and suede knee high boots, either bare tanned legs or v sheer black tights

Blog on styling a long sleeved slightly cropped sequin top with a tulle skirt - I think it would look nice and the tulle is likely to hide a multitude of sins....

Tulle midi skirt (probably black or grey, not pink) OR a midi leather wrap pencil skirt (not short). Or a black satin midi skirt, the sort with box pleats so it is bell-shaped.

A fitted (and slightly cropped you said?) sequin top would look good with a little bit of volume or length on the bottom half to balance it. If that was going to be trousers, for example, something like black paperbag-waist trousers, or cuffed cargo/parachute satin trousers. Same for skirts ie tulle midi, or satin midi, or a longer length wrap skirt.

If tulle skirt, you might have to go through a couple to get to the one with the most flattering fit. They are notoriously hard to get right. I've had better success with ones which are tiered and not bunched straight from the waist, or at least ones with a flatter waistband. It's a nice look though.

I agree with what @Cupofteaandpacketofbiscuits and also think if it’s slightly cropped you do need a bit of volume/length to balance it out.

I’ve only ever had one tulle skirt which I think was bunched from waist (sort of straight down) and wore with sequin top (short sleeves) and obi belt. I like tulle skirts but for me I don’t wear them much.

Try the velvet flares and also Spanx with the satin skirt.

Tried the velvet flares on tonight and they didn’t look right. I don’t have a mini but I pulled up a black midi pencil skirt to make a mini and tucked the top in and it looked nice so have ordered a mini black skirt from Vinted. Hoping it looks nice!
