I say, 'short please, but dont make him look like a thug!!'

Cost me £13 for ds2 (age 3) to have a hair cut at the barber!!

ChopsTheDuck · 11/03/2008 17:37

the numbers def aren't mms. The #1 on mine is 3mm, up to #7 which is 1"

frogs · 11/03/2008 17:38

Ah, ok maybe their 1/8ths of an inch. That would make sense, since I think it's an American way of numbering haircuts.

frogs · 11/03/2008 17:39

They're

Eeek

FrannyandZooey · 11/03/2008 17:40

I say 'please please please don't cut all his curls off'

(the first 2 haircuts he ever had, they gave him a short back and sides)

then I look embarrassed and mutter something about 'surfy style please'

no 4 is short, very short

ChopsTheDuck · 11/03/2008 17:40

that would be about right actually, I know it goes 1/8, 1/4, 3/8ths,

hoxtonchick · 11/03/2008 17:41

i keep repeating scissors only, no razor like a loon......

I don't think Ds's hair will go into little boys style. Plus he hates the hairdressers, screams blue murder and he is bloody five now fgs so really should get over it.

ds is nearly 9 now and still a total pain - wincing & even a bit of shrieking sometimes. I have a tiny bit of sympathy (he gets hives afterwards from the stray bits of hair so clearly there is a genuine skin & sense issue) but he is really too old not to grit his teeth & cope.

Anna8888 · 11/03/2008 18:49

DSS1 - wears it as long as his father can bear and is very fussy about the hairdresser - we have been to 5 in the last 2.5 years...

DSS2 - has it as short as possible as he hates washing / brushing and is prone to nits as he has a very hot head
