Warm lined hi tops or ankle boots

I'm having chemotherapy and it's really affecting my hands and feet and I need to keep them super warm. I had to go out today in my snow boots,which kept my feet warm but were not a great look!

Can anyone please recommend something ankle length and stylish that is also properly warm?

@TwigTheWonderKid > You do need your feet and hands to be warm to make the rest of you feel warm, I know. I have Doc Marten's chelsea boots that have a faux fur lining and, because they tend to be slightly over-sized for me, I can wear thermal socks with them.

I have MTE Vans and Dr Martens 1460 wintergrip blizzard for the cold weather. The DMS are fleece lined, waterproof and have a great grip for snow/ice and the MTE Vans are very comfortable and warm.

Blimey those Vans MTE are pricey! Having cancer is very expensive (as well as being very shit)

Would love to hear more from anyone who can recommend trainers/boots they've actually worn. There is so much "warm looking" footwear out there but I can't make expensive mistakes and want to make sure anything I get is properly up to the job.

The only boots I found to be warm are snowboots and timberlands.

I've got neuropathy from chemo so I empathise. Thermal socks and Ugg snow boots are good for my feet. Hopefully getting some warmies microwave slipper boots for Xmas.

Sheepskin is much warmer than faux acrylic sheepskin. I have sheepskin insoles (from Celtic and Co) which I put in whichever boots I am wearing. They are very warm indeed inside my Sorel boots.

These. I've got the black ones and the brown ones. The most comfortable things you will ever put on your feet and thick fleecy lined.

I have 10 tog socks which might be a cheaper way than buying new boots. Super warm

I’m after some sheepskin lined ones. I keep looking at DM’s, but faux fur gives me sweaty feet. I don’t want lace ups

There are real sheepskin lined DM's but they are more money. Celtic sheepskin boots are great.

I came to say exactly this. Your feet will never be truly cosy in synthetic footwear. Stick some proper sheepskin insoles in whatever shoes you love, and wear real wool socks. Cosy feet all day long 🔥

That's not real sheepskin inside. It's "fleece" which is almost certainly synthetic!

Hmmm. Fleece can also be sheepskin. It should say polyester fleece if it’s man made.

Also wear their thermal leggings under your trousers/skirt. Makes a huge difference.

Another vote for sheepskin insoles! I’ve done some Chicago winter commutes in some truly shocking negative temps and found that those + merino socks in my regular Chelsea boots are just warm as the Vans MTE or Sorel snowboots (I also own both).

I asked for similar recently to replace my trusty Ugg Niels boots which were lined and the warmest thing ever. I was recommended "Panama Jacks" and so far they are definitely living up to the recommendation.

I bought a pair of Ugg insoles to go inside my winter boots. They're really toasty. And I buy soft wool socks as they're warmer too.

Neoprene toe warmers (got mine from Amazon) have helped me enormously so far this season (Raynauds). Otherwise I agree with Sorel snow boots

May not be stylish enough for some but I bought a pair of these last year and immediately bought another once I'd worn them because my feet stayed SO warm. I live in a sought after Cotswolds town and a number of people thought they looked cool!

Decathlon make great, good value stuff, they're a French company with stores here or online. Their snow boots are good too.

Another vote here for Vans MTEs. So warm and waterproof, great investment (often in sale too).
