What's the best warm waterproof kids' coat please?

I have a really warm waterproof Didrikson coat, going into its fourth winter. The DC have what look similar, but theirs are from M&S and Next, and they get wet and cold on the walk to school and while we are out and about at the weekends. Is there an equivalent warm, dry coat for kids please? I have a tiny one and primary school age. Not bothered about looks, just need it to work (although ideally in a bright colour or with light reflectors to keep them safer on dark afternoons). I feel bad being toasty while they shiver!

Make sure the label says waterproof not ‘water resistant’

Try not to machine wash it but if you do, use waterproofing nikwax or similar in the machine or it will wash off the waterproofing

Brands - we have this one whoch has a thin fleece lining but if you want warmer but you could also try mountain warehouse we had a great one from their ski range

The most waterproof I’ve found is the rubbery raincoats from Lidl with the Lidl lightweight puffer underneath for warmth. Didn’t manage to get them for my kids this year as they only had small sizes, one has trespass and one mountain warehouse but they’re not very waterproof. Good for showers but not heavy rain.

Polarn O Pyret or Didriksons. Both expensive but can be picked up secondhand, the quality means they’ll last several owners ime. I’ve handed coats down with my sons and never had one that leaks.

Depending on age, Jojo Maman Bebe do waterproof parkas with shearling lining. My girls have worn them every winter and they’re great.
