As the title really, I have bad circulation and my hands always feel the cold. Even with gloves on in winter they feel like ice and can get really sore.

What sort of gloves should I go for?

I have some old sheep skin mittens which are warm but impractical (difficult to get on/off and my hands are fairly useless when they are on). I wear turtle doves cashmere wrist warmers which are a bit more functional but less cosy than full gloves obviously. Watching for ideas though!

Alpaca is good for gloves - 5 x warmer than wool, water repellent and very light. Not sure how easy it is to buy alpaca gloves as I usually make my own, but worth a Google?

I tried knitting alpaca blend gloves and it turns out I'm horribly allergic to it!

You need cashmere ones with wrist warmers as well. I find if my wrists are cold my hands are never warm.

Wear a pair of silk glove liners inside a pair of mittens. This is what we do when we go to Finland where temperatures get down to -20° Our hands are always toasty. Not sure they are stylish though but you could always wear the liners under nice gloves instead.

I've got some Uniqlo thermal velvet ones. They're pretty smart and warm. I agree with PP that silk liners help but I find it a faff getting 2 pairs of gloves on and off every time I need to use my phone or whatever.

As someone has said, mittens with liners are the warmest solution. I've just bought these as I have the matching beanie and buff for very cold days/dog walking as they are SO soft, warm, comfortable and, for me, not itchy at all... https://www.raymears.com/Bushcraft_Product/1043-Noble-Wilde-Gloves/ do measure and size up as they are snug.

Noble Wilde Gloves

These Noble Wilde Gloves have been created from a special blend of fine merino wool and insulating possum fur, making them a luxurious winter glove that will provide a superb amount of warmth while remaining extremely light in weight. The idea of blend...

Cos have cashmere-lined leather gloves which I always wear in the winter, and it gets very cold where I live

Eribe
I have these, they are beautiful and incredibly warm. I swim in the sea all year round so am particularly in need of gloves that will warm my hands very quickly when I get out and these are perfect. I boughy mine through the House of Bruar.

I wear sheepskin mittens
They feel warmer than gloves to me as the warmth is from the hand rather than each finger if that makes sense
