Dress for Christmas lunch

We are staying in a small country hotel for 3 days over Christmas and I’m looking for a dress to wear for Christmas Day.

I’m mid 40s, size 14 5’5” and hate being cold, so want sleeves and will wear tights. Any suggestions?

Love the embroidery ones but don’t feel that black isn’t right.

I've just had this delivered and I can't tell you how gorgeous it is! It comes in a short length so you could try that. It has elasticated sections at the waist and down the middle of the bust to give such a lovely shape. I'm 5'7 and a size 18 and it made me feel pretty!

True to size! I got a 14 and would usually by a 16 in Zara/HM.

It definitely doesn't look black but I don't think the style looks particularly comfortable for eating a big xmas dinner in, I'd be worried about belly bloat!

OP. I showed the dress you linked in your OP to my 19yo and she liked it, so have just ordered, in black. Thank you. It may not fit when it arrives as she is is just under 5ft, but finding something she likes enough to want to try is a win.

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie it is a little expensive but honestly, it's so nice on. It's lined. It fits well. The material is nice. You can usually get a 10% off code. I know I'll get plenty of wear out of it and it's good with tights and boots.
