How many boxes of hair dye

I have pretty long hair, past my bra strap. It's sort of balayage from my ears down. My natural colour is a mousey brown with some greys at the temple.
I'm really fed up with the colour and just want brown all over so I'm thinking of chucking some chocolate brown box dye over it. I hate the hairdressers and havent been in years. As it's so long my husband cuts it for me and I've done the blonde tips myself.
Anyways, how many boxes of dye do you reckon I'll need? I was thinking at least 4. I'm fine doing it myself, have always done other box dyes so know what to expect. Just haven't done it when my hair has been this long.

4? No way. If you use Olia one box is plenty

I would do it once and then if it is a bit uneven do it again once more.

Until recently, I had pretty long hair (middle of my back, it's now shoulder length), and I've never had to use more than one box of L'Oreal Casting Creme. Two should do yours easily.

My mum has extremely thick and long hair and only uses two boxes. I don't unfortunately but also buy two boxes when I have gone from blonde to brown and use about 1.5. My hair was thin but bra strap length.

I definitely couldn't get away with one. When it was shoulder length I'm sure I always used most of 2 bottles. I have lots of hair, not particularly thick just lots of it. The last time I got it coloured at a hairdressers she kept commentating on how much dye she was using do that's why I thought I'd need a lot. I'll go with 2 and hope it works out!!
