Is this hairstyle okay for professional job?

NC'd because of my phone case Blush

I start a job in a bank next week. I wear my hair like this every day, although I can't remember for the life of me if I did on the day of my interview. Is this hairstyle okay to wear to a professional job, or is it a bit immature? TIA

I rotate my scrunchies based on outfit (or seasonBlush), I'm case you thought I wear the same one every day.

Swap the scrunchie for a plain band and you’ll be fine.
I love your hair (and phone case!).

FiveCows · 06/11/2023 21:21

Yes

redastherose · 06/11/2023 21:21

It looks fine, I doubt they have a strict style for hair in a bank anymore so long as it is clean and tidy.

StillWantingADog · 06/11/2023 21:23

Broadly yes but I’d ditch the scrunchy and use something plainer

I have not worn scrunchies since I was about 10

@Gnomegnomegnome that's so kind, thank you. Every time I go to the hairdressers, I always get asked if I want it thinned or layered, but it reminds me daily of my heritage so I keep it (regardless of how wild it isGrin). The phone case 2as from Urban Outfitters a while ago EnvySmile

No idea why the envy face is there!

Gnomegnomegnome · 06/11/2023 21:29

I don’t think it’s wild! Do you mind me asking about your heritage? I love that you are proud of who you are.
And I should be doing the envy face!

Loubelle70 · 06/11/2023 21:31

Definitely ditch the scrunchie. Your hair would look lovely in an up do, pull few strands near ears to frame face

Pinkpinkplonk · 06/11/2023 21:32

You have beautiful hair. The style is lovely, but the scrunchie is a little young/ casual, maybe swap it for some other band or clip

Mamette · 06/11/2023 21:34

Scrunchies are all in now with the younger ones at my workplace. You’d fit in fine with the 20-somethings just as you are OP. I don’t think you should ditch your seasonal scrunchies.

RosesAndHellebores · 06/11/2023 21:35

It's fine but as others have said, use a plain tie or a simple slide. You have lovely hair.

profhair · 06/11/2023 21:35

@Gnomegnomegnome to be fair, I did blow dry it this morning 😅 Heritage wise, I'm Irish Catholic/ Orthodox Jewish. Neither of my parents are these, my paternal grandfather was the last Irish Catholic and my maternal great grand mother (grandfather's mother) was the last Orthodox Jew. My maternal grandmother is also of Jewish descent, but I'm not sure how far back that goes, she's a Roman Catholic, as was her father. Sorry for the life story Grin

I hate myself for this.. but scrunchies remind me of Hilary Clinton

I love Hilary Clinton but the scrunchies always set me on edge

I think something plain like the attached

Based on the younger people in my office, you are right on trend. I'm pushing 40 but love a scrunchie too.

Gnomegnomegnome · 06/11/2023 21:40

@profhair don’t apologise! It’s fascinating.

This is what is wrong with my hair, it’s my incredibly dull heritage. Bastards!

capnfeathersword · 06/11/2023 21:41

I think it's lovely the way it is and you'd be fine. Be yourself! 😊

Oh I stand corrected then. I honestly thought they went out of fashion about 1992

HermioneWeasley · 06/11/2023 21:44

Is it in breach of any dress codes - no. Is it very professional, also no. If you want to keep the same style I’d swap the scrunchie for a plain clip and it will look neater and more professional.

There seems to be quite a bit of 90s fashion creeping back in!

youveturnedupwelldone · 06/11/2023 22:18

Your hairstyle is fine for a professional job, I think it's lovely.

Personally I'd change the scrunchie for a plain elastic, but that's just me - maybe you could match your scrunchie to your uniform if you have one. If no uniform no need to change it up!

My DD is crazy about scrunchies, they are back along with the bumbags.

I thought the same, but bought a couple recently as my normal bands kept snapping and were ripping out my hair. I am a convert! Much kinder on my hair

Pigeonqueen · 06/11/2023 22:22

Scrunchies are really fashionable again now but if you want to go for a smarter look I’d swap it for a clip.
