What to wear to NHS interview?

Hello, I thought I would ask some wise people on here as I don't have a clue!

I have an in person NHS interview late next week.

It's for a Band 7 clinical role and I'm being interviewed by Doctors and Matrons.

I'm a size 16, about 5'6, bit of a tummy, wide hips. I have some flat pointy black shoes (though they have a bit of a scuff), and some black straight leg trousers.

I don't really have much in the way of smart tops or jackets. So I thought maybe a black blazer and a smart top? But I'm not sure.

I can go shopping this weekend or get things delivered. I don't want to spend a fortune, but also desperately want this job!

Any help is much appreciated!

Keep it simple if you already have most of it opt for a plain black top or colour you know really suits you, polish your shoes and look clean and presentable. There are very few people in the NHS that look immaculate and certainly not in clinical roles where they are far more interested in your clinical skills.

If you need to buy a blazer buy rhe best you can afford in a colour that will go with multiple outifts. I tend to stuck to black, navy and a range of greys.

Good luck

Hi @Sosonervous
Have done a lot of interviews in NHS recently (matron level role) and honestly would say whateveryou feel comfortable in is going to be a winner. Recent candidates have worn a real range of stuff. What you suggested sounds great and as long as clean would cover a range of roles within the NHS. Don't be afraid to show your personality with jewellery, bags, etc but keep to what makes you feel good! Including your undies! Best of luck to you and hope it goes well
