Recommend me a non-allergenic eye make-up remover please!

I seem to have developed an allergy to my trusty Garnier micellar eye make-up remover and need to find an alternative. I’ve tried the Clinique Take the Day Off cleansing balm (at £32 😲) and it’s just as bad.

I used to use Oil of Olay cream in a tube which was brilliant but it was discontinued years ago.

Any ideas lovely people? I’m fed up of stingy, sore eyes!

olive oil. Except my mascara which is water soluble. So I use water on loo roll to remove mascara then olive oil for the rest. Then put a few drops of Thealoz Duo eye drops in eyes to remove any oily feeling.

Any oil (e.g. coconut, jojoba, almond, olive) you're not reacting to, or try a tubing mascara that comes off with warm water.

I use coconut oil. Works a treat.

Amazing! Never would have thought of using plain oil. Will this remove mascara completely? Thank you all.

@DrNo007 Can you tell me which water soluble mascara you use please?

Me too. A cheap one from an ethnic grocer shop.

@DanielleandBobby , No 7 Stay Perfect. It doesn't say tubing on it, but says that warm water will remove it. Other brands do tubing mascaras too.

The olive oil removes the make up, but you can wash off the oil after if you like

DrNo007 · 02/11/2023 13:53

Yes I use no 7 stay perfect mascara.

DanielleandBobby · 02/11/2023 13:55

@KirstenBlest Great - thank you 😊

I use the Simple range which works a treat and doesn't irritate my skin.

I use almond oil round my eyes, especially when my eczema flares as it is at the moment. You don't need a lot, just enough to rub gently and I remove with a damp cotton pad or facecloth.
