Kids leggings that are long but have a tiny waist

DD is extremely skinny so all her leggings and trousers are either too short or too lose at the waist. It's impossible to buy anything that fits. Could anyone suggest any place that might have something suitable? She's 7.

Or is there an extremely simple way to take in the waist a bit Keeling in mind that I'm generally terrible at DIY and got no idea how to sew?

My 7YO DD is like this. I brought some from h&m and they have an adjustable waist on each side. They are leggings material but flares not leggings. It was a pack of 2, one black and one denim.

We have this problem. We have to sew a fold in the waist band, it’s easy to do once you’ve been shown if you have someone who could show you.

I take the back centre seem and fold it over so it looks like a z if you look down on it and then sew up the sides and across top. If it needs a lot taking in I do it on both sides instead so the gather isn’t too big.

video showing quick way of taking on waist on trousers I feel your pain as my DD is the same, I've just had to buy school trousers a size too small for her waist. She find the button / elastic adjustable waists uncomfortable so won't wear them.

My dd is like this and I always found next quite good. Now she is 13 she gets super small adult primark leggings and they’re perfect.

Sew a fold or buy leg warmers to cover the ankle in winter. Or my daughter wears a lot of shorts and warm tights in the winter.
