Unfortunately i have been burgled and my beautiful bespoke engagement ring was stolen. Lots of other things were taken but this upsets me fhe most and it was the only "of value item " i own.

It was £5K new 15 years ago and is only insured for the same.
I want to find the very best value way of getting my ring remade . Please advise

I was a 2 carat sapphire (natural ) with 2 pear diamonds

Did you have detailed photos of it?

It might be worth asking your insurer if they can recommend someone to remake it as they might get a preferential rate?

Sorry you were burgled though & this precious item stolen, thats a horrible thing to happen.

An independent jeweller not in a city centre who have design capabilities is your best option - they will be honest with you over the best way to replace, I know of a place near me that can do this. However word of warning, when my insurance replaced stolen jewellery it came in the form of a gift card for the h Samuel group (includes other brands) no exceptions

Your insurer would usually arrange to have it remade but they’d need to value it to see if it’s within the policy limit (actual
value is typically 50-55% of retail so it may still be within the £5K)

So sorry to hear that your were burgled.

I think your money would go further using a Hatton Garden jeweller. I was recommended to one who made my eternity style wedding ring. This also has an insurance value of £5k but the cost to make was quite a bit less. Lovely guy who makes and repairs all sorts of precious stones rings. He doesn't have a shop front so his overheads would be lower. PM me if you'd like his name.

So sorry to hear this.

I don’t know where you are based but if in / near London I can recommend a diamond merchant who can have it made (if you want to DM me).
