Lipstick doesn't show up on my lips at all?

This is random, I have spent years googling but haven't ever found a reason or solution!

Basically sounds weird but no matter what lipstick or stain I use (and I have tried loads!) none of them show up at all on my lips. I've tried exfoliating them first but it's so odd, does anyone else have this issue?!

Surely this can only be the case if the colour isn't deep enough, perhaps you have quite a bit of pigment in the lips?

I'm fair but have a fair bit of pigment to my lips and do need to go quite dark with lipsticks or it just looks like nothing. A lot of the 'nude' family of shades are lighter than my lip colour or duller than it and look like nothing/nothing beneficial even though those are the shades recommended for fairer skins.

The lipsticks i tend to have success with look far too dark when I look at the bullet but translate well on the lips. Lip liner I a deep enough shade also helps.

So you're saying you could use opaque matte black or opaque matte white lipstick and neither would show up at all? Blood red? Neon blue? Electric yellow?

Second question - was your father a chameleon?

In all seriousness though, are they not showing up at all even immediately after applying or are they coming off/fading very quickly? What colours and shades are you trying that are all going on invisible? Do you have darker/more pigmented lips and perhaps require a very opaque lipstick to "pop"? What formulas are you using - some lipsticks are more subtle and some are more kapow, what have you tried?

So a bright red lipstick wouldn't show up? I'm intrigued can you do a demonstration 😂
