Please help me find the perfect nude lipstick!

After many years of searching, I am STILL firmly on the hunt for the perfect nude lipstick to suit my colouring. I am very fair skinned but with an olive undertone, have dark blonde/warm light brown hair, hazel eyes. Anything with a peachy or orange undertone looks awful on me as does anything too pink. I am quite open to different formulas as long as not overly drying. Any wisdom much appreciated 😀

Have you tried MAC Velvet Teddy?

underseige05 · 31/10/2023 20:00

Mac Blankety

Have you tried MAC Velvet Teddy?

Came on to say this. It looks different on different skin tones though so worth testing.

Jewelspun · 31/10/2023 20:33

Velvet teddy turns orangey on me as Charlotte Tilbury Pillow talk.

I like Gucci's Painted veil which does not turn orange or too pink on me

Rimmel Asia works for me

Forgot to add I use it with Rimmel cappuccino lipliner
Used so many high end brands but always return to this combo

RockingAmadeus · 31/10/2023 20:42

And for me : Mac Blankety

Jessica3075 · 31/10/2023 22:37

I love Rimmel Asia but detest the fragrance. Such a shame as it’s very long wearing.

weddingplans25 · 31/10/2023 23:12

Mac Viva glam 2 with either spice or boldly bare lip liner- these have been my only go to combos for about 10 years!

lenalove · 01/11/2023 09:38

Thanks for all the responses so far! Mac Velvet Teddy - think I had a tube of this many moons ago actually, might be one to try again. Also like the look of Gucci Painted Veil 😀

I like Mac Spirit, it's similar to Velvet Teddy.

eandz13 · 01/11/2023 10:18

I'm still looking for this mythical product too, your description matches mine.

NYX butter gloss in Madeleine is close to the target and it's only about a fiver, as is VB posh gloss in Tanline (these are glosses obvs but I find a sheerer product works better with pale olive skin day to day... unless it's windy)

Jeffree Star velour liquid lipstick has a few 'almost there' shades. I have Gated Community and Posh Spice.

I am yet to find a lip liner that remotely fits the bill however. Settling for Barry M in shade Toast at the moment!

Mac do a virtual try on where you can upload a photo( or use your camera) and you can see which shades suit your skin
I found mine is Mac Twig

Mumof118 · 03/11/2023 16:55

My cousin has olive tones and golden caramels in her hair. She wears Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk and it does look lovely on her, even though I’m not a huge fan of the brand myself.

Fiveletters · 03/11/2023 17:35

"Thanks, it's Mac" is the best I've tried

Shopper727 · 03/11/2023 17:36

I wear either Chanel Cecile or boy
love them

Chypre · 03/11/2023 17:36

You have to match it in tone towards the inside of your lip! Then it will be perfect "my lips but better" shade.

professionalnomad · 03/11/2023 19:13

Nars velvet matte lip pencil in Valkyrie

Darklane · 03/11/2023 19:26

Boots No7 Daydreamer

Gwenhwyfar · 03/11/2023 20:24

Mac Modesty. Blankety is also OK, but I don't like Velvet Teddy. The best was Nearly Me, but it was discontinued.

windypumpkin · 03/11/2023 20:25

Don't bother with CT pillow talk it looks really warm

I like this but I find it doesn't stay on, do you find it the same?

Never heard that before! Going to try it!
