What to wear on my legs with a dress for work?

I've got a nice dress, knee length, black with big white flowers, I want to wear it at a work conference.

What do I wear on my legs? Nude tights? Black opaque tights? Sheer black tights? I can't decide which would look better, black opaques are easiest but they might be a bit heavy due to the white flowers.
I'm so old I remember each of these options being high fashion and also completely out. What's the best thing to wear in 2023?!

Cant go wrong with medium denier black? But I think any would be fine

Thanks @ExcitingRicotta I read recently that mid denier were the absolute pits hence the question, but they would be my choice too really.

Slightly depends on the shoes - delicate shoes - go for a lighter denier, chunky shoes or boots, go for opaques.

I'd probably go black 60 denier - decently opaque and smart without being wooly/heavy.

I’d try sheer black but have a back up of thicker opaques just in case.

Thanks all, this was super helpful. I got some 15 denier black and that's a great idea to have opaques as a backup. It's a work conference in Europe and it's usually quite cold!
