Mix together about 6 aspirin (the dissolving ones) and use as a face mask once a week.

Really works.

I have wondered about this too.
I was watching "10 years younger" once and the woman they were "doing" had a problem with blackheads around her nose etc and they took her for micro-dermabrasion at a beauty salon and she looked much better afterwards. They basically took a layer of skin off using what looked like a small circular sanding machine!
I haven't found anyone local that does this but keep looking.

I think that squeezing makes them worse in the long term.

FrannyandZooey · 10/03/2008 20:37

yes I think it makes the pores bigger and the blackheads just come back

Coming to this thread late as usual ...

This product is brilliant: Estee Lauder IDEALIST Pore minimizing skin refiner.

Asked my dh to buy it cheap for me in the states as it costs a fortune in Europe (over £30) after it had been recommended on another thread here.

Bought it to sort out my widening pore problem (which it solved in three applications) and it has incidentally banished all the blackheads too!

You only need a tiny bit applied under moisturiser (leave to dry for a few moments before putting moisturiser on top). Feels fantastic. Always thought these very expensive treatments were a waste of money until I tried this - it really is amazing.

CGH-ooh that sounds good ,pity it's so £££ here.

Don't squeeze them unless your skin is very very soft and cover your nails with a cloth. Don't keep picking at the spot - if it doesn't give the first time, it won't go at all. You don't want to scar your face.

I had a facial on holiday last year and my skin was so dry, the therapist had to steam it twice. She then insisted on picking out my blackheads so hard it brought tears to my eyes! I went into breakfast looking as though my pet cat had just died!

My skin did look great a few days later though
