Waterproof trainers and lace up boots

Hello all
I'm on the scout for a good, street looking pair of waterproof trainers for the winter. I wear new balance mostly but am happy to go with whatever looks good and also keeps my feet dry.
I also want a good pair of lace up ankle boots thst I can wear with jeans. Preferably brown.
Any ideas???

I tried finding waterproof New Balance, they are few and far between. Same with Nike, Skechers, Adidas. Then tried trail running shoes from Adidas and Nike as most of those are waterproof but they're not street. So far I have bought and returned nearly £1400 worth of trainers / walking shoes / trail running shoes with no luck. Granted my feet are wide, but a wide-fit womens size 5 shouldn't be this tricky. If you have any luck, please share.

I reckon unless you're good with a hiking type vibe then the most waterproof 'street' trainers would be leather versions - like leather stan smiths for example?

My Nike Air Force ones are pretty waterproof

Vans MTE hi tops are great for winter, Converse do a waterproof hi top also. New Balance 2002r do a gore Tex pair and a leather pair.
I personally prefer hi tops in the winter as I don't like cold/wet ankles. I have Vans MTE love them and hi top Nike Dunks as my main winter trainer especially when it's raining.

Boots I have and love are Solovair 8 eye Derby(oxblood ), Dr Martens(a few different styles) and Grenson Nanette.

My Nike high tops are waterproof and I wear dm boots.

Vans did some great winter waterproof high tops in the last couple of years.

By waterproof do you mean walking through puddles waterproof or feet not sodden if caught in a shower?

Acorncat1 · 29/10/2023 16:59

Thank you all so much, I'll go have a look now. I work outdoors so I'm good for hiking boots and my muck boots do the trick for that. Looking more for not sodden feet in a shower or if walking along wet pavements.

leather, faux leather or trail/gore-tex

Thunderpunt · 29/10/2023 18:39

I have a pair of black ASICS ones that are made with goretex so are waterproof- were around £100 a couple of years ago but still good

StoatofDisarray · 29/10/2023 18:51

Try sealskin socks instead! Make any trainer waterproof!

Acorncat1 · 29/10/2023 19:30

I'm looking at these Nike Air Force 1 High Utility 2.0Women's Boot. Look cool and good for winter. Thoughts?

I don't like them

Blueggsandham · 29/10/2023 19:39

You could try ECCO, they have a fair few styles ij trainees and boots with goretex so properly waterproof.

drspouse · 29/10/2023 19:51

Ecco do a waterproof shoe. It's very hard to find for women, obviously we are supposed to stay at home if it's raining.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 29/10/2023 20:14

I have those AF1s! Yes they are fab, rainproof, comfy, love them.

Crikeyisthatthetime · 29/10/2023 20:25

Love them OP. I think I want them.

Acorncat1 · 29/10/2023 21:56

Thanks but I'm not a converse fan!
