Uniqlo- how bad are they( in particular returns)?

TrustPilot reviews are awful. I used to buy a lot from them and want to do a big order but reviews are shocking.

No idea. Could you get to a shop if you want several items?

wayyour · 24/10/2023 16:05

I had to wait a while for the refund, but I got it in the end.

AnnPerkins · 24/10/2023 16:06

I ordered some jeans and a couple of things from them the other week and they were fine. The sizing for jeans looks confusing but the fit guide helps. I’ve had to return stuff before and no complaints.

Gr33nwich62548 · 24/10/2023 16:10

No miles from a shop. Think the returns is a bit of a gamble. Lots and lots of people saying they only got refunded half their items with Uniqlo insisting items were missing and not budging, then there is the fee…

I'll never order from Uniqlo again.

They use Evri/Hermes, and you have to pay for shipping, which means you, not Uniqlo, is Evri's customer. My delivery arrived ok, but when I returned part of my order, it disappeared in Evri's system and Uniqlo never received it. Uniqlo washed their hands of the problem, since "you are the paying customer of Evri, not us." Evri's customer support is a black hole, and I never got an answer from them. The package never turned up, so I lost £40.

Never again!

Uniqlo won't let you return ordered items in store either, you have to return via Evri, unless you are willing to exchange.

Gr33nwich62548 · 24/10/2023 16:33

Ah that’s what I thought. Worse than I thought actually, didn’t realise thats how it works, all the complaints make sense.Glad I read that. I’m out then. So annoying.

You can return with Royal Mail. I do, because the nearest Evri drop off is something like 80 miles away. Somewhere on their site are instructions how to do it.
I've returned two items in the past 2 or 3 month using RM and it was fine, got money back within 2 weeks of sending them back.

Gr33nwich62548 · 24/10/2023 16:52

Hmmm it’s really hard to find it on the site and I’ve read a statement from them elsewhere that you have to pay it yourself if you use RM which would be expensive. The £3 fee is obviously
less but less likely you’ll get a refund if they use Evri with that.

Made two large orders very recently of which I returned about half the items.

The first order was fine, not quick, but not impossibly slow.

The second came in two parts. foolishly because i was trying to be organised, I requested the return for a few bits in the first half before the second part arrived. Nearly sent it off. Thank goodness I didn't.

Uniqlo website refused to allow the second lot to be returned. I was happy to pay for a second label, even paying for two labels its cheaper than travelling to a uniqlo. Customer services wanted me to courier the items back at my own expense. Then they wanted me to return them to store and exchange them. Given I never intended on keeping both, I was planning on one or the the other but neither fit, I wasn't impressed. I felt i was made to justify why i wanted to return the items. I asked to speak to a manager.

Then then said I could just attach the second parcel to the first and make a note on the outside. The website has authorised the full return, I haven't received it yet but its not been long, so it may still work out OK. But it was way harder than it should have been.

Stuff I kept is very nice though

Not had an issue so far - I tend to order some items in multiple sizes as I'm not near a store and their sizing, depending on the range, can be tricky to get right. I love the collaborations they've done with Marimekko but to say it's oversized is an understatement! I don't mind paying the returns charge - it's less than what I would spend on getting to the shop/parking even if local to me and I tend to get free delivery when I order because of the above. Never had an issue, touch wood, with getting refunds. Touch slow, maybe, but I find a lot of online retailers like that. I have always been very happy with the quality of the items, too - their Heattech range will get me through winter in a very cold work place!

WhoStoleYourHighHorse · 24/10/2023 17:10

I could have written this post! Just had a very similar experience with Uniqlo. I love their clothes but the website is appalling and customer service even worse. Reading some of these comments could make you wonder if they have a policy in place to non refund.
They told me I had only returned one item when it was two and wouldn't budge. Really frustrating people to deal with. Such a shame as I love their clothes.

Igneococcus · 24/10/2023 17:14

I paid more than £3 each time but never more than £5, depends on the weight of course. I always send it 2nd class.
If you use RM you don't do it by the online return system, you just stick a piece of paper inside with your name, order number and item number you want to return and put the address on outside.

I won't shop there after an appalling returns experience a few years ago. Terrible customer service with a faulty item in which they effectively accused me of attempted theft/fraud.

Gr33nwich62548 · 24/10/2023 17:29

Thing is if I’m going to spend over £200 on
a couple of sizes I want to know I’m going to get my money back.

I use Uniqlo regularly and have never had issues with Evri returns as long as you return everything at once from that delivery. Don't return random items. You go onto your account, select the items you want to return and print the label at the Evri shop. You are charged 2.95.

I used to be annoyed at that charge but then I reckoned it's less than I'd pay going on a bus to a shop.

I find it's best to read customer reviews and compare the garment measurements as the sizing can differ. But really like Uniqlo. I think the returns are processed very quickly if you return within the first few days of receipt.

TheOGCCL · 24/10/2023 18:12

I haven't returned anything online but think it's annoying you can't return online orders back to a store, and nor can you return items bought at one store to another so I am dubious about their overall customer service post purchase.

mambojambodothetango · 24/10/2023 18:22

I've returned online ordered stuff in store no problem. I've also never had a problem returning by post and getting refunded. I love them and have just ordered more!

calyxx · 24/10/2023 20:01

Use it all the time with returns, never had an issue

lovehatesummer · 24/10/2023 21:40

My Evri return was lost but they refunded me the full amount without any delay when I flagged it. No complaints here!
