I’m hosting an evening charity event in a couple of weeks. The guests attending won’t be particularly formally dressed, but I do want to look a little bit more glam than you would do at a normal event, so I’ve chosen this dress from Next. The question is, however, what to wear on my feet. I will be standing all night and running around a lot, so I need them to be comfortable — happy to wear flats as I’m quite tall but I also don’t mind a chunky or block heel. I don’t want stilettos/thin heels or anything massively high (platforms are okay so long as they’re chunky). And part of it is outside so I will be wearing tights (probably nude, but possibly sheer black) so sandals are out. I ALSO have a very high arch which means I need wide fit and nothing that’s cut too low across the toe. And I have chunky ankles so would prefer to avoid an ankle strap if possible. I know, I know. I’m demanding. ANYWAY, I just have no idea and I’m hoping some of you lovely lot can help with suggestions. Totally open on colour and I’m happy to go for something contrasting which I can tie in with jewellery.
IN SUMMARY:
- A bit special but not TOO formal
- Any colour
- Flat, block or chunky heel are fine, no stiletto or thin heels
- Wide fit and not cut low across the toes
- No ankle strap
- No sandals (peep toe would be fine)
- Open to boots if there are any that would go – I can’t really imagine it but I’m willing to be persuaded!
