Help me get dressed for my new job please!

I am starting a new job next week and am going shopping on Tuesday. It is a very professional "city" job. Please could you help me to get dressed?

I am tall and size 16/18 at the moment, boobs in proportion (not crazy large). Size 8 feet, too.

I am planning to go straight to Jigsaw but I find this a bit boring. I like bright colours but think I can only do this for tops, will need v sensible suits. No ironing ideally.

All tips on accessorising boring suits gratefully received too.

Thanks folks!

i like jigsaw suits, i think they are v. flattering and chic. but then i haven't bought a suit in about 5 years so what do i know!

i like v neck jumpers and pretty t shirts under suits. shirts look abit sad.

I like them too but I don't know how to still look like myself and not a corporate clone?

but isn't that the point of suits?

How about a pair of trousers, a bright blouse/shirt & a tailored waist coat?

They're in most shops at the minute & are lovely

I wear corporate suits for work in black/brown or grey. Accessories make all the difference. I wear nice shoes (I've got a lovely pair of red brogues). Nice jewellery and scarves round my neck look nice too. Matalan has some v.nice neck scarves in, at the mo.

Brooches? Badges? Pins on the lapel?

A good haircut.... some red flashes

I would go to a big department store tbh. I also wear suits for work and was going MAD trying to find some nice suits. I looked at Jigsaw and have some suit pants from there but none of the jackets looked right and in the end, I was going shopping for bloody HOURS and coming back with very little.

Then I went to Bentalls and John Lewis and found some lovely suits in there (and everything is all together but I am LAZY with a capital L when it comes to shopping).

There are some nice suits coming into the shops at the moment so it's a good time to look I think.

I also think you can do plain black/grey suits and have brightish tops and it looks ok though it's taken me a long time to come to that conclusion.

Ended up with something from Hobbs, I am deffo 18 now it seems and Jigsaw only go up to 16.

I got a couple of nice stretchy tops from Jigsaw though in coral and bright purple. Hobbs is is pushing bright yellow but I wasn;t quite ready for that!

Also bought myself a new Radley wallet as a treat .

Thanks for your help!
