Yes. I am a former shop volunteer, probably around Jan 2023 we were told that they had bought up lots of old stock at (I think) £30 a pair and each store would be allocated some pairs to sell. We had absolute dross, unless you are in the market for a pair of size 8 pink snakeskin effect ankle boots. Awful colours, styles and sizes, no wonder they hadn't sold and Duo wanted rid of them. Other shops had a better selection.
We were told the absolute minimum we could sell them for was £59.99 a pair.
Buying up stock from old retailers is not something i think charity shop chains should be doing. Corporate DONATIONS yes, in my time at Oxfam we had donations from M&S, Zara group, Ted Baker, Speedo and more. Often there were some strings attached about not advertising the stock prominently (Ted Baker) and writing on labels with Sharpie (M&S). But never anything about minimum pricing.
