I like the front, but not the back

soapbox · 08/03/2008 17:27

LOL - you can buy a pot of jewels for a tenner and get the glue gun out!

bran · 08/03/2008 17:29

I don't get bags at all - I just can't see what makes a fab bag fab, and a naff one naff.

Those sandals are a bit odd though, pastel and middle-aged at the front and teenage bling at the back.

southeastastra · 08/03/2008 17:30

i love the bag though

nailpolish · 08/03/2008 17:31

bran i will re-educate about bags .

not sure about suede panels on that one naily...

GetOrfMoiLand · 08/03/2008 17:33

lovely bag, not keen on the shoes

WHY did I just click on that link? Will now be dream shopping on net a porter for ages (bang goes Saturday night)

Reminds me of when I was a kid and used to drool over my gran's Kays and Freemans catalogues

foxinsocks · 08/03/2008 17:34

I fall in and out of love with bags periodically but am still on an eternal quest for the perfect bag.

That one would be too small for me and I don't like all the fussy zips on the outside but it does look soft and lush (the leather and suede).

nailpolish · 08/03/2008 17:36

the suede bit s are v subtle

the matt gold bits are so stylish

i spoke ot the salesgirl for about a half hr just about this bag today

I think re-education might be a bit of a Herculean task HC. I do need a new handbag though, at the moment I have one of those nylon Radly 'mum' bags and it's looking a bit tatty.

nailpolish · 08/03/2008 19:12

bran radley is so common )round here anyway)

I don't really buy by brand though np, I'm more focused on whether it will carry everything I need in an organised way and how resistant it is pickpockets. I generally go for the plainest one I can find. I really don't get the ones with all the straps and metal bits at all. I think they look like they were made with leftover bits of tack for horses.

I probably do need handbag education really. In fact I could do with being taken in hand generally.

when i buy a new bag dh immediately inspects the closures and as to whether they are resisant to pickpockets etc. hes so practical

I seemed to have slipped into a parallel universe where I'm the popular one that everyone wants to go shopping with. What an odd feeling.

lennygrrl, I used to work with an Italian who moved to London in the summer and sidled up to me one day to ask what date people in London would pack away their summer wardrobe and take out their winter wardrobe. He was shocked that people in the office were continuing to wear their summer clothes and just putting a coat on over the top.
