Dress for black tie gala - help!

Hi everyone,
I really need help finding a nice (reasonably priced!) dress for a black tie gala that I have to attend!
For context, I'm 5ft6", ~10st and have a D bust, I can't wear backless, because of the boob situation and strapless just doesn't suit me.
I also just had a baby 8 months ago so wrap dresses are out and my weight is predominantly on my belly!
I'm freaking out because I've spent more money sending stuff back than if I just got a dress made!
Is there anyone, anyone at all out there who might be able to help? I would so so appreciate any suggestions on where to look!
Thanks MN!!

Try Sosander www.sosandar.com/party/

What do you think to hiring. I used to accompany my husband to a lot of black tie events and I found it much easier to hire.
Mainly because there is so much choice under the same roof and fitting & alteration is usually included in the price.
It's not always cheap to hire but I liked it because I didn't get stuck with an outfit I wouldn't get my wear out of and I loved the variety.

I second hiring something, particularly if you've just had a baby.
Girl Meets Dress would be a good place to start.

Have you tried quiz, pretty much the only place on the high street with dresses

Club L London have some gorgeous dresses and they're very reasonably priced. Primark for shapewear super cheap.

What size dresses do you normally wear (I'm guessing a size 10-12 would I be right)?
Also, what is your budget for this dress?

Here are some options for you from Coast:

Option 1- £109

Option 2 - £299

Option 3 - £95

Option 4 - £119

Option 5 - £89

Option 6 - £107

There are loads more on their website but I'm just trying to find out what you would go for and what you really wouldn't at this point. Do you want full length or tea length? Have you had a look at the bridesmaids section of www.wed2b.com because you can pick a style and then a colour you want it in without breaking the bank. It would depend on how long you have before the event you want the dress for, whether that might be a workable solution for you.

Lastly - www.jjshouse.com has some dresses/styles that if you fit their sizes, can be shipped to you within 48 hours.

Hopefully there is something for you amongst my suggestions.
