Help me find a good winter cocktail dress!

I'm a youngish early-40s, size 8-10 and 5'5"

Going to a posh dinner dance thing in November and I've no idea what to wear. Would like to wear something cool rather than very posh and traditional (I can get away with not very black tie, last year I wore and Oliver bonas long sleeved fitted maxi dress) but not sure where to start with brands. I'd prefer to buy something on Vinted so was planning to do a search on brands once I had an idea of where to look.

Something with sleeves elbow length or longer, fitted or billowy, and I prefer long midi or a maxi.

If anyone has ideas I'm all ears!

If money not an object I'd go for Self Portrait. Could possibly rent something.

I love the dresses that Bombshell sell and they do a lot of sleeved, velvet, classic styles amongst a nice variety

On which planet are Bombshell dresses ‘cool’, though?

Would cut outs be appropriate? Zara has a few long sleeve maxi dress with subtle cut outs that I like - but they are new season, so I'm not sure if you'd find them on vinted. Also being, zara, the quality could be hit and miss. Mint velvet also had one or two in their new season which looked okay

Yes! Been looking at SP on Vinted. I do have a gorgeous SP dress but it's way too summery (and a little too snug post childbirth!). Thanks
