Night out outfit with boots

I have a lovely newly single friend (nearly 40) going out on the town (midlands). She's asking me for opinions on clothes and I don't feel qualified to help 😀. I'm 17 years older and my town nights just about over. She really wants to wear her black knee length boots. She wants a dress but what sort of dress? Please help. Lemonade budget. Nothing too out there - we are very small town 😊.

Any dress from midi to mini in length and not skin tight unless the hem is above the boots.

Given that no one here knows her budget, size, personal style, friendship group / dating pool, or the likely venues for her night out - it’s hard to be more specific. But the point of knee high black boots is that they go with everything.

@SurpriseSparDay oh 😀. She's going to pubs (I don't think clubbing) with friends from work so a real mix of ages - both blokes and women. Not necessarily on the pull. She's slim with good legs and boobs (size 8/10probs). Budget is probably £50.
