New shoes for my new empty nest capsule wardrobe.

So further to all the help so many of you offered in my previous thread about creating a new wardrobe. I now have some really amazing staples. I really liked the animal print and the burgndy long skirts and camel jeans that arrived from Phase Eight today. Still working on finding a few more long dresses and a really nice long coat. Currently most things are black, camel, and burgandy's. I will inject more colour over coming weeks and months. I do have the camel jeans coming in navy and a couple of white tops on their way too.

What I have thought of today is that I now need shoes. I have tree trunk legs and kankles so long boots are always bought from duo and I have a couple of those already. I have a pair of exceptionally comfy solovairs (same as DM's) and a cheap pair of shiny burgandy boots in a DM style, and a cheap pair of camel/light tan chelsea type boots. So feel like I'm ok ish on the boot front, but I would like to get some shoes but I don't know where to start as lived in boots and birkenstock flipflops for years. I honestly don't think I have owned a pair of shoes for at least 10 years.

I am early 40's, work in prison with lots of stairs, and I dont want anything dressy? I am also trying to inject a social life and hobbies now both kids are at uni. I have widish feet so occasionally some shoes have been tight. I haven't walked in heels for 107 years, other than the odd platform boot so then they don't feel so high. I dont actually think I could walk in heels and worry they would make my feet hurt from holding up over thirteen stone. But, I am short, so wouldn't say no to an extra inch or so.

What kind of shoes are nice looking, not too frumpy, but not too heely or dressy? I guess some options for work and some options for going out with hubby and date nights or just out with friends.

I feel completely out of my depth with shoes!
