Anyone know of a GEL daily moisturiser with SPF that doesn't cost tons?

Hello,
Discovered Clinique Moisture Surge 100H Auto-Replenishing recently. I love the texture because it's the first thing I've found that feels like it's dealing with the dry skin on my face without blocking up all the open pores I've had for 30 years.

But it's pricey! And it's not a case of "a little goes a long way" with it either....I feel like I need quite a bit so it's only going to last a few weeks. And no SPF.

Anyone got a cheaper solution?

Must have;

  1. Gel texture
  2. SPF
  3. not above £15 per 100ml.
  4. available online

Thank you for all suggestions!

Thanks. This says it's a lotion.... have you used it yourself? Is it a lotion (a runny cream) or a gel?

Aveeno do a nice calm and restore gel moisturiser but again no SPF

Thank you both. Ideal, except for the lack of SPF!

Byoma gel-cream moisturiser - comes in both SPF and non-SPF versions.

Thank you. I looked at the SPF one on Amazon but the reviews are poor :(

There are definitely gel sunscreens in Sephora. Teenage DD uses one of them as a daily moisturiser - possibly the supergoop one?

Divebar2021 · 11/10/2023 08:29

Well you could always buy a moisturiser and then use a separate over make up spray rather than trying to find one product to do both.

This one is really good but is I think more expensive than you wanted to pay but quite often is on offer at Escentual.

Yes on offer here

Another recommendation for Neutrogena. It’s a very light lotion which didn’t clog my pores at all and prevented any sunburn (SPF 50) when we were in Greece last month

TheYearOfSmallThings · 11/10/2023 09:20

The Eucerin one is good but well above £15 per 100ml. Tbh I don't think you are going to find what you are looking for at that price point - £15 per 50ml would be more realistic.

You should use a separate SPF anyway as you need more of it than moisturiser. If you like gel texture Biore Watery Essence is very highly rated or if you don't mind a cream then I love Beauty of Joseon

This is the spf always highly recommended

Not a moisturiser as such, but Heliocare gel spf is gorgeous on the skin. Feels quite moisturising but isn’t sticky or clogging. Leaves a lovely sheen and is great under makeup.

SoIinvictus · 11/10/2023 10:46

Nadine Baggott was trialling the new CeraVe gel-lotion moisturizer the other day. Probably quite cheap.

You should use an extra SPF anyway as nobody puts enough moisturizer on- you'd be an oil slick for sure if you did. (index and middle finger worth)
