What footwear is best with this White Company raincoat?

I recently bought this raincoat from The White Company. I really like it but I'm more used to wearing hip-length puffa or wool jackets, and my footwear goes with these - usually Ash leather hi-tops or New Balance style chunky trainers in Autumn.

I think this coat needs something different, either something more delicate, like a ballet flat or something more obviously waterproof.

So I thought I'd ask Mumsnet!

The second picture is how I'd typically wear it.

If you're wearing it like the second photo then the only thing that I can imagine would fit that style would be trainers but you could do a dusky pink or muted green trainer for a bit colour that would go with the cream?

Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 Trainers may work as they aren't so chunky.

Ballet flats with a raincoat is a terrible idea. Three spots of rain and the soles will be sliding all over and your feet will be wet on top.
Or, even if it isn’t raining now, stand in a 2cm puddle and they’ll underwater.

If your wearing a raincoat then something more obviously waterproof would be the correct option ! (Ballet pumps and rain do not mix )

It's a lovely coat. I have the same type style in a royal blue.

I either wear with my pavers boots (I have grey and burgundy) or if I'm walking in woods etc I wear ankle wellies.

If it's not particularly wet and I'm walking around town or at work I wear my white leather reebok classics.
