Black tie ideas - but with conditions rules!

I'm going to a black tie wedding this winter.

We have to wear floor length. We cannot where white or black (wedding rules).

I am size 12, 5.5.

Dark autumnal colours really don't suit me so I would be looking for bright colours or gold/silver I think (pastel colours feels weird for winter!?)

Any ideas!? I've scoured the other black tie posts but so many of the dresses posted are black 🫣

I had your exact problem a few years ago OP (New Years Eves wedding to boot!) - I ended up in an independent prom dress shop who basically pulled dresses off the rack that they thought would suit me.

I would never, ever have tried on the one i bought if I was browsing myself and it was perfect. The dress cost the same as the better end of the high street.

Have you thought about renting, if it's just for a one off?

Another massive plug for renting! I love Hurr - you can rent something fabulous and save some money. I often do it when I have an event and people will come up to me and say how incredible my dress it (as I’m not committed to the dress long term I often go more ‘out there’ with colour, pattern or volume)
