Tell me about Zara please

My youngest (adult) DD is very petite. She's after 'this season's jacket': the black aviator type.
There's one in Zara kids that would fit her but as I'm a M+S , Joules and Decathlon shopper I have no idea if the quality will be ok.
Is Zara better quality than, for example, H+M, Next, River Island? I'm just after an idea of where they sit. Thanks

I love Zara clothing. I would say that Zara is very on trend and better quality than H&M to be honest. I think its more similar to Mango, but a bit cheaper.

ODFOx · 04/10/2023 11:38

That's very helpful, thanks.

Just get it, none of their stock stays around for long!

Mercurial123 · 04/10/2023 16:44

The quality is generally bad, but they have some well-made items, though it takes effort to find them.

amberisola · 04/10/2023 16:46

The quality can be good, it depends on the item. The sizing is also a bit erratic. That said, I buy lots from there!

LoobyDop · 04/10/2023 18:32

Massively over-hyped by fashion journalists, imo. The stuff looks really on-trend on the page, but is badly made from cheap fabric. Lots of corners cut, so things like fitted tops are so fitted you can’t move your arms.

SoIinvictus · 04/10/2023 18:34

Quality has plummeted in recent years.
I'd say very similar to H&M, though recently DD has had 2 things that were faulty (Zara)
Sizing is mental.
It's got a very quick turnover of products in-store, fast fashion at its worst.

Meeting · 04/10/2023 18:40

Zara is well known for their poor quality.

They're basically over priced fast fashion. Yes some of their clothing is nice, but the sizing is absolutely all over the place and at least 50% of their stock has makeup on it.

Unfortun8 · 04/10/2023 18:45

The fabrics can be very odd. Quality is hit and miss

Vitriolinsanity · 04/10/2023 18:48

The Basics range and their cotton work shirts are always excellent. Sizing elsewhere can be hit and miss, but I like the designs more than H&M etc. I'm a fan of their shoes.

Get the jacket. Return it if you don't like it, but get to store early as the queue is miiiiiiiiles long usually.

ResoluteRaccoon · 04/10/2023 18:52

Unless you’re a stick thing size 6 with nothing on bones then the fit is really weird. I’m a 12 and it all hangs totally wrong without fail.

kezzyleah · 04/10/2023 18:56

I love zara for kids and for me. It's about the only clothes shop I regularly shop in anymore actually.

Shopgirl1 · 04/10/2023 18:59

I like Zara in moderation. Like anywhere there is good and bad. When you find good, it’s better than H&M or Mango, but it’s not as good as Cos or Arket etc.

ODFOx · 06/10/2023 12:03

We ordered online. It came yesterday and she's very pleased with it. More expensive than the primark one that she couldn't get in her size but much nicer quality. Less weighty than the MandS one but a cheaper price as it was from the kids range. This might encourage her to look at some kids ranges going forward.
Thanks all
