How to wear loafers

I very rarely wear shoes in the winter. I flit between trainers and boots. But I've found a pair of loafers that fit and are super comfy. I just don't know how to wear them!

I guess with skirts, I just go with tights, but what about trousers? Bare foot is most definitely not an option. But surely socks will look odd.

Please can some wise people in the ways of shoe wearing advise me??

(NB - trousers are often narrow leg/have ankle on view, so whatever goes inside the shoe is visible)

I’ve mostly seen people wearing them with scrunched down socks. Both with trousers and skirts.
I’m quite tempted by them too!

Popsocks?

Surely not? I'm not sure I can bring myself to wear popsocks! Or are they more of a thing these days?

I've just bought a pair too!! Feeling quite late 90s....

This time of year I'll go no socks I think (or no show socks - maybe that's what pop socks means?? Otherwise NO!).

And when colder I probably won't wear with trousers!!

I wear my loafers (silver, gold, navy patent) with sparkly socks from Cos exactly the same colour. They look fab!
