Expensive leather rucksack / handbag combo - anyone got one?

hey all wise S&B people. I am looking for a new nice rucksack that can also be a handbag. Happy to spend £400, I have two Longchamp leather rucksacks but want something I can turn into a handbag for looking slight smarter.

Does a thing exist?

Bugger ! It obviously doesn’t !!!

I have a leather backpack from Jigsaw that’s lovely - soft but solid. It has two straps so it doesn’t convert to a shoulder bag, but the styling is smart enough with a nice buckle, that it has a handbag feel rather than a ‘practical rucksack for a day trip’ feel. It’s nicer than the Coach and Kate Spade ones that I had for my last two.

I've seen satchel type bags that can be worn on the back, would they be any good?

I lust after Tumi leather backpacks.... budget currently not allowing for such a purchase!!

I have an Ekin Asan Wimbledon that might fit the bill.

I bought this years ago in AllSaints (in mouse grey) and it is great. You might have to get it second hand thougH...

You'd have no idea it's a backpack when it's in handbag mode, but also works really well as the former. It's also very roomy and practical with lots of extra zips/pockets and a small pouch inside. I get so many compliments on it and honestly don't have any other pieces that combine style and practicality so well.

Fwiw I am also a big long champ leather fan and would have never occurred to me to get an AllSaints bag, but my friend had one so I ran to the store - she is usually a bag snob so took it as a good sign and have not been disappointed.

I second the All Saints Kita. I've got a warm greyish version and it's fabulous - even looking great after a few years of wear/neglect on my part. Doesn't look like a backpack when worn as a handbag and versatile, including detachable pouch. Very nice quality leather.

No @multiholk - the black AS one is a kita (they had a few bags in this range) I've got and mine is in the greyish brownish colour. I'd suggest worthwhile persevering for - I got mine about ?4 years ago now so not so long ago that there shouldn't be any floating around.

It's a shame they only have the Wimbledon in black now - they used to do it in several colours.

Update - I found a second hand all saints kita in a sandy colour. It is fab! Used it for an interview then got the train home.
