Most flattering jeans for 40-somethings.

I am size 12/14, age 48 and 5 foot 6. I weigh about 11st 3. What would be the nicest, most flattering and comfortable jeans? I usually wear Gap jeans butvyou can't try them on now the shops have shut.

@Yoyoyo1 Gap is in some branches of Next so worth looking to see if any Next branches carry Gap in your area.

I am slightly older than you and also slighter larger (both in height and width!) I swear by Not Your Daughter's Jeans (NYDJ) which I first discovered in John Lewis. They are really flattering on my bum and don't sit too low on my hips like many brands do.

I have a big lower tummy, wide hips and a big bum. For me Joule’s Simone girlfriend jeans / Levis 724 straight jeans / Gap straight look the best. For real denim (not stretch) Joules is the best but you need to try them on.

@Yoyoyo1 I have usually bought the classic straight leg in various colours. But I have just looked again at their range - cos of this thread - and they have definitely expanded and updated it since I last purchased. Am quite tempted to a skinny pair myself now!

I agree they are expensive. I am not remotely well-off and usually baulk at high prices but I find these to be a really good investment. They are nice quality so wash and wear well and last and last.

Levi's "ribcage straight" could work well!

Straight leg mid rise Pepe jeans. They have low pockets so cut your bum in half - I am a similar size to you and these are awesome!

I love m&s lily slim in the short size. I’m usually a 12 but in m&s I take 10; I find the jeans really long on the body so get short, otherwise the button is above by bellybutton. But def worth trying on. I have in a few colours and they are v comfy. Medium blue are my fave.
