Black straight or bootcut stretch trousers, high waisted

Any really good quality flattering recommendations ?

5'6". Long torso and not very long legs. Slim hips but bit of a tummy ( so higher rise)

Love ponte type fabric. Prefer pockets.

Want something that looks good with trainers but quality can be smarter with loafers for the office. Will never were heels.
Prefer straight leg or bootcut - not wise leg, or skinny / tapered.

Watching with interest! I'm on the hunt for pretty much the same thing, with the added requirement of a high proportion of non-synthetic fabric such as cotton or viscose.

A few years ago I bought some Barbara Lebek pull ons with a seam at the front, they were really comfortable and could be used for smart or casual. Must try to find some more as I wore them literally to bits (in the end for gardening!).

Boden Hampshire.
My holy grail of trouser.

M&S have a few pairs

I just bought a pair in Sainsbury's! Black, stretch, bootcut. No idea what they're like yet, have to try them on when I get home.

Take a look at niche - their stretch trousers are lovely. More straight than tapered.

missfliss · 02/10/2023 20:43

I have possibly found some - Boden Pimlico. I tried Hampshire as someone recommended down thread but they looked more of a skinny fit on me ( I have shortish legs and don't have slim calves)

I have a long torso so need a good high waist. These are truly high waisted. They are a very decent weight of ponte fabric and just the right length for me with a slight bootcut.

Only thing is that the pockets are faux rather than real ...

I hate bootcuts, love straights and almost any other cut.

missfliss · 02/10/2023 21:28

Maybe not the thread you need then wolves :-)
I'm asking specifically for straight or bootcut recommendations!

I got mine off Amazon! Under yoga pants. My first pair had a lot of cotton and stretch, fab but I grew out of them. My current pair are more synthetic but super-comfy. Not the absolute cheapest but great fit and if you do the try before you buy options you don't have to pay if you return immediately, if you leave it longer than a week you have a month to get a refund.

Do not wear with high heels like the model though!

I don't think these fit the bill. They're nice enough, very comfortable, but the fabric is just a little too thin to feel smart. Also no pockets. And they're too long to wear with flats. I might keep them, anyway, as I can take up the hem.

And I'll keep an eye out for a sale on Boden!

missfliss · 04/10/2023 12:20

Think am settled on boden pimlico ( bootcut) in first pic.

Highgates are next pic. Really good trousers but the 7/8 straight leg doesn't suit me as well ( my legs are short in comparison to my torso).

Ooh I like those.
I wonder if they no longer do the Hampshire in a proper bootcut. I have them in bootcuts and straight and feel much smarter in the former. (think we have the same trainers as well 😂)
