If you wear birkenstocks in the summer

What do you wear in the winter? I have been in a hot country for years and have worn little else. I have now moved and need some boots. I was thinking fitflops, but can anyone else recommend another comfortable, supportive brand?
Thanks so much!

Dr martins, or vionics

Blundstones and New Balance trainers, both with arch support inserts.

Only one of those are boots 😀 but that's what I wear in the winter.
I got my Blundstones around the start of covid, have walked miles and miles in them in all weather and they look as good as new.

UGG boots!

Dontsparethehorses · 30/09/2023 04:54

Toms leather boots (I love my wedge ones from last year)

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 30/09/2023 04:54

UGG Adirondacks. It’s Birkenstock weather here in summer but -30 in winter!

LemonLimeWater · 30/09/2023 06:11

Thanks so much, these are fantastic suggestions!

Birkenstock boots, hugely expensive but my feet can't take anything else now.

Jeffjefftyjeff · 30/09/2023 06:39

I could have written this post 10 years ago! I went with fit flops and then later fly London then later UGG. Fitflop probably comfiest. If Birkenstock boots had been around sooner I would have gone wrong them!

TakeMe2Insanity · 30/09/2023 07:13

Birkenstock boots or their low trainers.

faffadoodledo · 30/09/2023 07:14

Solovair boots - comfier and waaaay more classy than DMs (they used to make the soles for DMs before Docs shipped off their manufacture to the Far East and quality plummeted).
Am also experimenting with Birkenstock clog styles
New Balance trainers

Uggs, Berghaus, Birkenstock and Sorel depending on outside conditions. Also, check your socks are wide enough in the toe.

geoger · 30/09/2023 08:07

Birkenstock boots!! They’re soooo comfy! Or a pair of their closed toe mules/clogs

slopsan · 30/09/2023 09:00

Birkenstock shoes

EquallyDetermined · 30/09/2023 09:05

Any boots or trainers which fit orthotic inserts (generic ones that I buy from Boots or Amazon)

JennieTheZebra · 30/09/2023 09:09

Celtic and co shortie sheepskin boots. They’re well made so last forever, can go in the washing machine and the company offers a repair and resole service so better for the environment than buying new all the time. My oldest pair are from 2015 and still going strong! https://www.celticandco.com/womens/footwear/womens-sheepskin-boots/short-classic-boots?colourid=59

Another Birkenstock boots devotee - I have them in black leather and pale pink suede

Shinyandnew1 · 30/09/2023 09:28

Fly London-they have a very similar feel to the sole.

Fairylights85 · 30/09/2023 09:35

Blundestone boots with insoles or Allbird trainers. Both comfortable!

Fairylights85 · 30/09/2023 09:36

But I didn’t know Birkenstock did boots! To those that have them: Are they waterproof? Do they have a good insole?

TheNinthLock · 30/09/2023 09:45

Birkenstock boots. I have Birkenstock sandals, trainers and boots. Wear nothing else now.
Y.es, the boots have same insole as the sandals. Same platform. Don’t know about waterproof? They are leather boots. I have worn them in rain, snow. But not on muddy hikes….

I live in Birkenstocks and trainers too, and have been wondering about new boots for the autumn. I have quite a high arch, plus wide toes, and I've been looking at DMs, Grensons, Solovair and Blundstones but I can't really make out which has the best fit for my awkward feet. They are all pricey so it's an expensive mistake to make.

I used to have great boots from Shoe Embassy but I've finally retired them
