Colourful baby clothes...where??

I'm after some colourful (stripey / spotty, etc etc) clothes for my 6 mo girl DTs. I'm tired of all the baby pink and just want to find some bright and simple bodysuits and trousers. I like the stuff by some of the Danish designers (on Nordickids.co.uk) but it's terribly expensive. Does anyone know of any UK shops that sell such a thing? I know H&M has great stuff but somewhere that has an online shop would be better. As you can imagine, shopping with DTs is not the easiest thing these days!!

Nordic Kids nice too, but can be a bit pricey I think.

Gap have a nice red stripy/stars pattern in their baby essentials range - also a navy based one. No on-line shopping though.
Have you tried Pumpkin patch?

francagoestohollywood · 05/03/2008 21:08

Try Du Pareil Au Meme, it sells on line as well. I loved it when the dc were babies

JossStick · 05/03/2008 21:10

I got fed up with pastels too and when my DSs were small i'd tie dye over the top of them with bright colours.

francagoestohollywood · 05/03/2008 21:16

just checked the dpam website and it appears to be all... pink

soph28 · 05/03/2008 21:17

Gap had really cute spotty baby grows when I was in last week.

Next also do a lot of fun stripey and spotty stuff.

I got my dd a denim shirt dress in mothercare so that I could match it with colourful patterened tights.

pinkyminky · 05/03/2008 21:18

Polarn o pyret. You get them in House of Fraser stores. Very stripey, funky mad fabric prints. Well made, comfy and hard wearing.

I bought a whole bunch of cheap plain white stuff for our baby (due this May) and dyed it all bright primary colours using Dylon machine wash - it all looks fabulous! they have a good range of colours - can buy it in most big department stores or poss through their website

Hiya,

www.otismelotis.co.uk is an on-line shop selling fabulously colourful stuff. I have several of the suits and tops, which washes really really well!

Cheers,

Sinne

I get some of the more expensive stuff second-hand on eBay, where you can pick it up quite cheaply. Good options there are the Toby Tiger multicoloured babygro, some stuff from Brights and Stripes, some of the Scandinavian designers (Katvig comes upquite a bit although not a great range of their designs). Or just do searches in baby clothing with key words like "bright", "bold", etc.

Bright Bots are good new or on eBay. I second advice on kidsshouldbekids who are very good in terms of value and service. Jako-O have great stuff but IME are often out of stock int he smaller sizes -- great for when you have an older baby though.

Sainsbury's sometimes have a good colour selection, and sometimes Tesco do a selection of plain coloured vests and/or babygros -- right now it looks a bit pink and blue, though.

brights and stripes Quite expensive but very funky
