How to look chic on a budget?

Hi everyone. As I've got older I've realised that a more timeless, tailored look suits me best. The problem is that timeless elegance is never cheap. I'd like to create a capsule wardrobe of nice pieces that won't necessarily cost a lot. I'm tall (five ten) with a big bust and tummy (size 16), I suit black/ cream/ camel colours. Pleaseeee help me.

Also apparently some people are more neutral toned and sit in between cool and warm. This is not common though

Why not? I'm puzzled 🤔

I read that too and just thought, ffs if people feel comfortable in what they’re wearing then it suits them!

@LaCerbiatta I know loads of warm toned people who suit black and white too actually including myself! Black isn't a cool
colour in the same way as say a cool pink.

@LunaTheCat I've only just discovered there's a mood board on my Whering App 😂 I've been using it for months & listing all my wardrobe in an attempt to lessen my expenditure ...

Camel suits warm undertones, spring and autumn, more spring really as it can be too light for some autumns. Black only really suits winter. I'm a winter and look great in black and just dead in cream or camel.

Of course it doesn't mean you don't care about any of this, love both colours and want to carry on wearing them 🙂

I look rubbish in both!

Black [next to my skin] makes me look dead and camel is too similar to my hair colour so I just look like an enormous beige thing.

So I did a complete wardrobe inventory today, and went into a few shops (joules/ fat face/ M&S and next- we don't have much on our high st). Overall I'm quite disappointed at how little got me excited. Also had a look on Vinted and there are definitely some nice pieces but it will take an age to build up nice stuff. I think I'll have to focus on styling what I've got in the interim. Thanks for the ideas/ links.
