Fine and straight hair...tousling...tools and products?

Got a fine straight bob that just doesn't hold a curl for more than an hour, but I'd like to have a slightly tousled look sometimes, how do I achieve it without it dropping to the point of just looking messy?
I have plenty of tools I just can't seem to get it right! (Big hair, curl secret, curling wand, straighteners, blow dry brush...salt spray, mousse, tigi small talk, loreal techni art pli spray...
Do I need more layering at the risk of it looking finer? I love the Italian bob look and basically want to be able to wear it straight or slightly curled. Any advice please?

Sorry no help but following as I’m the same!

I have to use product to hold any curl in my fine straight hair. So once I've washed and dried it, I curl/wave then use a root powder, dry shampoo, slightly back comb the waves and spritz some hairspray. Tends to hold then !

I'm just rubbish at using straighteners or a wand to put in the curls, and the curl secret makes them too big and loopy!

I have this hair and cut- I put a fair bit of shockwaves volume mousse (the level 5 one) then I blow dry with the babyliss big hair.

Then I curl it on hot with a curling iron into tight curls and just run my fingers through it, and then use a light hold hairspray so it isn’t crunchy/hard!

it lasts 3 days with a bit of dry shampoo in between.

I find if I don’t use enough mousse or I don’t curl it hot enough then it doesn’t hold for more than a couple of hours.

Watch some tutorials on YouTube, I find straighteners the best for loose curls, they drop into a nice wave

Btw, I had layers once and my hair looked awful. I always find a blunt cut makes my hair look so much thicker !
