Biab nails - lots of newbie questions

I am considering getting some biab (builder in a bottle) nail gel because my nails can't cope with ordinary nail varnish and I miss wearing it.

Has anyone used it?
I have some probably stupid basic questions 😂
I know I need a UV lamp. The reviews I've read talk about using the biab, then colour, then a top coat - is it supposed to be a base and then you use ordinary colour and top coat? Or do you need all special stuff?

How can you remove it if it doesn't agree with you?

Can you cut nails with it on, or do you need to file them for length control?

Is it viable to just keep filling in the base as it grows off, or do you need to remove it fully each time or from time to time?

I have BIAB! You can infill (just file down what you've got on and pop a thin layer on that covers the growth and set it) without needing a full removal, but probably every 5 or 6 I get a full removal and a new layer on. You can file nails down with it on to control length definitely, I have it done when I get an infill.

To remove it my nail tech lightly files off the top layer then soaks it in a solution + it just scrapes gently off, I find it really therapeutic to watch 😂

BIAB can be used on its own and comes in different colours, but I tend to get BIAB then a gel colour on top. Or sometimes plain BIAB and some glitter!

I think BIAB only sell to professionals though? You have to supply evidence for your account that you're qualified before buying it from the gel bottle. I did look during lockdown I think!

Thanks @jiinglebells
I've been looking at the mylee one that they sell at boots. Lots of excellent reviews. Sadly salon version is beyond my means.
Very helpful info, thanks!
