Help! Wedding to attend but can't wear heels

For background, it's been 12 years and 3 kids since a wore anything really dressy. I still have a nice dress that fits and will suit the wedding vibe (evening do, fancy but not black tie). it's silk and stops at the knee. Last time I wore it, I wore heels but I've just tried them on and they are agony! I'm actually struggling to walk.

So...can anyone recommend some flats that I can wear with a cocktail dress. I don't have a smart trouser suit or anything where the shoes would be 'hidden', unfortunately. it's dress or dress, I'm afraid. Dress is grey silk with black pattern on it. I can wear it bare-legged or with tights.

thanks so much...I have 3 weeks to find something I can walk in.

Are your heels stiletto? I find a block heel or wedge more comfortable but more fashionable/dressy than a flat. Good luck

Gabor flats are gorgeous and comfortable, I wear them for conferences/on your feet all day events. Wear them In before hand and always wear tights/foot let’s with them

Carvela have also done lovely dress flats in the past. I echo wearing tights or footsies to prevent rub.

I can’t wear heels anymore, and it would be ankle suicide to attempt it.

I struggle to walk in heels but managed it in these low block heels from Boohoo.

I'm also team low block heel! I have an ankle injury so can't wear stiletto heels as much as I'd love to or anything too high. They still look and feel dressy.

Alternatively you could get some black pointed toe pumps or sling back pumps? Give the effect of heels without the actual heel?

Absolutely second a low block heel if you can manage it - ASOS have loads of styles or a small kitten heel. Lots of mules or slip ons too.

Also ballet flats are very much in style right now, you could try for a slightly dressier ballet flat like a sling back or pointy version, maybe adorned with a bow / brooch.

Honestly ASOS have tons and super affordable
