I'm broke and need a total overhaul

I hate everything in my wardrobe. Everything. Over the years I've amassed a collection of some really nice weird pieces, without any of the really solid basics to be able to wear any of these other pieces without looking like an explosion happened at a charity shop.

I'm 36 and feel I have totally outgrown my old look (grungy hippie bit of a hobo vibe). I want to burn it all and start again, but I've got no idea how to start.

I'm also stone cold broke right now and feeling overwhelmed by where to begin. Can anyone advise?

I can spend £100 MAX per month so really need to do this little by little.

I'm 5'9", size 10.

I don't even have any jeans that look right on me anymore. Only shoes I have that are okay are a pair of black leather biker style books, which look slightly sad and dated IMO. I don't even have a good quality jumper except one hand knitted purple fair isle (charity shop explosion style).

Go through wardrobe
sell items you don’t want

then amass more money to buy some really good quality staples to go with the nice “weird” stuff!

Uniqlo and M and S do good, basic and inexpensive merino wool jumpers, until you can find something better on Vinted. Don't buy acrylic.

im a similar age and also have just been through this, I always dressed like an old country lady which was fine because I was young but now I am getting older it feels less like a style and now just makes me look/ feel old. I bought a few more up to date items but would say don’t get rid of anything you love/ lose your old style completely because I’m now mixing them together and kind of embracing it.
