Wet weather shoes that aren’t lame

Sorry for the unimaginative title, but exactly as it says - what do you wear on your feet when it’s raining and wet, that isn’t totally tragic (sorry)? I know there are Goretex trainers but almost all of them I personally find ugly…

Solovairs all winter long!

If you use decent leather polish on real leather shoes or boots they will keep your feet dry in all but the most awful conditions. The thickness of the leather has an effect on how long they will keep your feet dry, as does the join between the sole and upper.

For city type wear DMs or leather trainers will be fine. For proper country walking or outdoor hobbies you may need to accept that function is more important than fashion and get hiking boots or country boots. These aren't necessarily awful but aren't high fashion.

I love these thanks!

I live in a city cut plenty of muddy paths/leaves etc! I just hate that any nice pair of fashion trainers I buy get wrecked in bad weather.

Those Sorel boots are absolutely gorgeous and now I want a pair!

I like my Merry People boots for wet weather - they are essentially just short wellies but very very comfortable and less wellyish than some on the market.

I spray all my shoes/boots with a water repellent spray and I can wear them all out in the rain without getting wet feet.

Short wellies - dream pairs on Amazon are very comfy and I can walk miles in them. They look like Chelsea boots
