What to wear to Cairo

Going on holiday in a couple of weeks and will be doing a day trip to Cairo/Giza to see the Pyramids.

I’m struggling with what to wear, as I’d like to be respectful to the culture, but also concerned that at 35 degrees I’m likely to be very very hot!

Have looked for a midi style dress with covered shoulders, but also potentially a shirt with shorts (not sure how much attention this will attract though?). I’d like to stay away from trousers ideally because I think I’ll get too hot.

Any ideas welcome!

Linen elastic waist trousers and long loose linen shirt. TBH you will be hassled to buy carpets no matter what you wear. It is the experience of a lifetime though.

The dress sounds ideal. You will see women in shorts but a loose dress is considered more respectable and will be cool.

Loose trousers and tops in cotton or linen.

Loose cropped trousers and a shirt over a vest. Trainers and a hat.

Trousers if you are going camel riding and a face mask, the stench in Cairo I'd next level

Probably this. I wore loose trousers and loose long sleeve shirt. Dress conservatively. It’s an amazing place, we were there 5 days and I’d be back like a shot. Loved Cairo.

nile cruise, dress conservatively too.

Dress more conservatively, I had a v neck t shirt on one time when I was there which I hadn’t thought twice about (not a deep v at all) and I felt very uncomfortable with the looks I got in Cairo. Long trousers, covered shoulders and chest. A shirt for over things is a good idea.
