I'm in a charity shop holding a couple of pairs that fit well.
Over? or not?
(Title should read high waist)

I don't know if they're over or not but I love them.

I love them too

notacooldad · 23/09/2023 13:39

If they suit you buy them

Milknosugarta · 23/09/2023 13:40

I love them as long as they are flow y like a skirt. (as opposed to stiffer maybe like trousers, iyswim)

EllaPaella · 23/09/2023 17:02

I have three pairs and love mine, but they are summer wear for me. To be worn with sandals- not sure how they would look with winter footwear.

HangingByYourFingernails · 27/09/2023 07:52

Thanks all.

I got both pairs in the end. Cheap brands (M&S and Pull &Bear) for a tenner each - I'm not sure I'll wear them for long, as EllaPaelle said they're more autumn/spring wear than winter, but I have worn them out and about on a shopping trip to the West End and they make me feel a bit more current: there's something a bit depressing and default about the way my normal straight legged jeans make me feel.

And if I donate them back to the charity after a few wears then everyone's happy.

Glad you like them @HangingByYourFingernails
Having just said I prefer them for summer/autumn I have just bought a pair of lovely dark green cord cropped wide leg flares from Seasalt that I'm hoping will work for winter if I pair with brown leather boots...

I'm pairing mine with knee length heeled sheepskin boots this year. I find them easy to wear as long as the culottes are the right length for me. A couple of inches or three above my ankle bone. Any longer they look silly.

I’ve had my eye on those and am waiting ‘til payday. How are you styling them? I was thinking oxblood boots and a fine knit merino sweater. What’s the sizing like?

EllaPaella · 27/09/2023 17:03

@Labbingtons similar to you.. I like them with this mustard sweat because but I also have some oatmeal jumpers that will work well and maybe a merino jumper/roll neck. Shoe-wise my brown DM Chelsea boots. Your oxblood boots would be a great combo!

EllaPaella · 27/09/2023 17:04

Crikey - sorry for all the awful typos! Hopefully you get the gist..

EllaPaella · 27/09/2023 17:07

@Labbingtons on sizing - i'd say true to size maybe slightly generous. I go between an 8-10 depending on shop but the 8 in these are a good fit.

Labbingtons · 27/09/2023 18:40

EllaPaella that sounds like a nice colour combo. I can’t do paper colours so am looking at a Celtic and Co fine knit merino sweater to go with them.
