Black or dark colours, unless requested not to, is generally de rigueur, I find. Also, light on the eye make-up or waterproof unless you want to end up looking like a Panda. Sadly, I have far too much experience at this...

Agree, err on the side of caution and go for black or dark colours unless family have said "no black please"

Hulababy · 04/03/2008 21:04

I would go for black or dark colours unless specifically asked not to.

DrNortherner · 04/03/2008 21:05

Have not been to one for years (thank God) but sadly, now do.

Will go with black trews, polo neck and my grey coat.

Thanks

Unless there's a specific request with regard to clothes, dark colours and reasonably formal is the best way to go.
