I need a gorgeous, 1920s evening wear outfit

Its my 40th in February and we are going to Burgh Island for the weekend. I need a beautiful couple of outfits for dinner! Its 1920s, but I really don't want to look like I'm i fancy dress. Any ideas for something more subtle?

I'm 5'8", size 12-14!

I'd also recommend holding your nerve! Evening wear is often only really stocked in the run up to Christmas/New Year and is often hugely reduced late December/early January. Might be worth stalking a few dresses online to check for reductions

And you will have fun, it's an amazing place, we went for a wedding anniversary some years ago and I'm dying to return now the refurb is complete. Arriving by sea tractor is quite the experience!

Is it a specific 1920s themed ball? Because I went there a few years back to a dinner dance there and it wasn’t themed. Everyone was just in cocktail dresses and evening gowns

This is more 30s than 20s but really on theme without being fancy dress. and the fabric is more forgiving and flattering than you would think.
