Ok, so I'm early 40s and size 16 (size is going down but slowly).
I saw Taryn mentioned on another thread a while ago and have been following her since. I generally like her looks/ advice, and I know with a tiny bit of effort I could apply them to stuff I can find in my wardrobe - but what I'd really like is to make no effort at all, find a UK version and then when they share something I really like and link it I can just buy that!
Any tips on who to follow? Mid/ plus size preferred, though not essential as long as the looks are fairly accessible, and someone who posts budget stuff at least some of the time.
I have a young child and my days are usually nursery run - bit of exercise - work from home - nursery run again so I'm quite happy with my leggings and hoodies through the week, but would just like to get some ideas for stepping it up a bit at weekends and when I do get out socially. I'm really not visual at all, and struggle to apply advice I see in different places to my actual body and my actual budget - so if someone says something like 'I'd wear that with a low heeled boot' or whatever, I'll think yes I must get some boots, but then I always feel like I get the wrong ones, or don't pull it off quite right. Which is why having an actual person modelling getting dressed in front of me is weirdly helpful and why I like Taryn's stuff. Embarrassing to admit how bad I am at this but there we are!
I have asked my husband for a personal styling service (Style Me Happy - I'm already in that facebook group) for my birthday next month so hopefully that will help too!
Edit - I feel like I should add - I do follow some plus size accounts but their style is more 'out there' than mine and there's less emphasis on actually putting an outfit together. I'd like to focus on putting better 'put together' rather than 'I can wear leopard print hot pants if I want to even though I'm a bigger size' - because I absolutely believe people can and should wear the bold, fabulous things - but I'm probably not going to any time soon, at least until I can figure out how to wear a dress with trainers and not feel like a total dick, which is where I'm still stuck!
