How organised/laid out is your underwear draw ?

Boyboyboy10 · 17/09/2023 09:57

Mine is literally thrown in. I have 1 black bra and 1 white bra. All my knickers are the same style/colour (I basically brought all the same), with some that are currently too small, some older pairs/styles that I no longer wear, mainly as they don't fit. I want a well-laied out underwear draw, with some sexy bits and a lot more bras. Maybe buy a lacy bralet. Get some matching bits. But, my partner isn't bothered about underwear and I wonder if it would all be a waste of time/energy

Bah ha ha. My underwear drawer is just a pile of jumbled pants, socks and mismatched bras. I think the only women who have well laid out, matching underwear either have a housekeeper, or are in a movie.

Bananasplitlady · 17/09/2023 10:07

My pants, bras and socks have all been Kondo'd, so are all organised and in rows. It doesn't have quite the same appeal when said pants are giant cotton apple catchers, but the principle is the same.
(Nothing else has been Kondo'd, but the underwear drawer got done a few years ago and I've maintained it ever since).

CrunchyCarrot · 17/09/2023 10:08

Hahahaha oh my! I wish it was, but in reality it's a jumble of underwear and socks!

hopeishere · 17/09/2023 10:10

I have a tallboy so it's a set of six small drawers. It goes - socks, pants, bras and vests, pyjamas, sport stuff and summer overspill.

The pants are all black. I need to sort the socks out though moving from summer (trainer socks) to winter (woolly socks).

Drews · 17/09/2023 10:18

Folded pants. Paired up socks. Bras in a neat pile. Tights are in a separate tote bag but a bit of a jumble.

LemongrassLollipop · 17/09/2023 10:24

I have a couple of drawer inserts from IKEA in my underwear drawer.

One for knickers, all folded and Kondo'd. Have always done this, pre Marie. Can't stand a jumbled mess.

Socks paired and in own insert. Together but don't look neat.

Johnnylewis · 17/09/2023 10:27

I've got the ikea inserts so things are separated eg bras, everyday knickers, shapewear etc but it's all just scrunched in. Sometimes if I'm having a good day I might ball a pair of socks

Cheeesus · 17/09/2023 10:29

These are the organiser things I have. Maybe get it all organised, get rid of things you don’t need and then buy a couple of nice bits if you want.

Mine is, I don't use the drawer tidy thing, but fold and line everything up - I like being tidy 😂 I also like matching sets, I really couldn't wear non-matching underwear 😱😂 I don't think the current man cares, although he is appreciative of the particularly nice sets.

It's definitely worth getting everything out of the drawer, chucking anything that doesn't fit or is passed its best, and then adding some new bits.

Edited because I pressed post before I'd finished 🙄

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 17/09/2023 10:37

I have the drawer inserts mentioned above. They keep everything tidy and I can see at a glance what I have.

amberisola · 17/09/2023 10:50

I tidy mine occasionally, but it quickly ends up in a jumble again! It's too small. It ends up with a big pile of hastily folded comfy big knickers shoved in on top of all the nicer/sexier bits that are folded nicely because they never see the light of day.

randobear · 17/09/2023 10:51

I did try for a bit, and have separate boxes, but really it's just a jumble. I mean honestly who has time to sort all the socks and pants out? Everything else though is relatively sorted e.g. clothes, tops etc.

fairyfluf · 17/09/2023 10:52

It starts off organised and then just turns into a tangled mess

UndercoverCop · 17/09/2023 10:52

I have those fabric boxes from IKEA one for bras, one knickers, one socks, one tights then a pile of leggings at one end. Prior to this it was essentially one giant knot. When I first decided to sort the drawer everything was rolled/folded neatly in each box, now it's just shoved in to each box but at least I know where to find socks for example

WonkyDesk · 17/09/2023 10:57

It starts out good. Then after a couple of weeks it's a mess. I'm that disorganised I've even started a new drawer, in the drawers near the doorway, where things get thrown in. So I essentially have two drawers, one that is half PJ's and half bras, some random knickers and a few pairs of socks. Then the full to the brim designated drawer, further away, near the window. I need a better system.

Thanks for mentioning this, I do have a set of those, supposedly for a completely different purpose, but I know they are currently not in use. Had forgotten about them, quite possible those would be a big help!

mondaytosunday · 17/09/2023 11:06

It's a jumble. Bras in one drawer (most don't fit) and pants in the next door drawer.
My daughter is very neat with her (shelves) though - but once worn things get thrown on the floor, but she puts her laundry away very nicely.

Same 🤣

Chelsea26 · 17/09/2023 11:12

Very organised! About the only thing in my house that is!

I only wear matching underwear so have a drawer with bras folded and their matching knickers tucked in the cups and then a drawer for sock which are paired.

sawnotseen · 17/09/2023 11:21

Mine are organised. I have a separate drawer for socks and another for stockings/tights which are in storage (ottoman bed) for now. I fold a bra with two pairs of coordinated knicks inside the cups, so I've always got a matching set to hand. When I open the bra/knicks drawer I can see all of the colours/patterns and chose which set to wear with my outfit for the day. I always wear matching sets, as do my mum, my sister and my adult daughter.

Doggymummar · 17/09/2023 11:48

3 drawers 1 for socks all paired. One for everyday pants and period pants, stacked. Third drawer for bras and shapewear.

Trumpton · 17/09/2023 11:57

Very tidy and folded.
Left to right.
Socks, trainer socks, crop tops (I have a double mastectomy) pants.
But all my clothes are Marie Kondo style and I love being able to find everything.

This. I kondoed the whole house a few years ago but the dresser drawers are the one thing that's really stuck.
