The holy grail: invisible trainer socks that stay put

Redwinestillfine · 16/09/2023 15:52

Is there any such thing? Tried several brands now and no joy. I spend the majority of the day looking like a weirdo fishing them out with my fingers and feeling super uncomfortable. I like wearing dresses and trainers/ canvas shoes and socks showing over the top looks rubbish but I can't seem to find a pair that will stay up. Any recommendations?

I've tried many, many types but the Primark mesh ones win hands down for me.

BitOutOfPractice · 16/09/2023 18:09

Oh oh I feel I have found my people with the primark mesh sock love. What have you got to lose? Maybe £3? Go for it!

happyharpy78 · 16/09/2023 18:15

Can you get into Costco? They have Puma trainer liners which don't slip at all even through a sweaty zumba class !

Redwinestillfine · 16/09/2023 18:29

Thank you all so much! Lots to try now.

These, these, these. A million times over. I have spent YEARS trying to find some that don’t disappear under your foot after 3 seconds, and these are it. It’s like they are glued to my feet, no matter what trainers I’m wearing. I have SO many pairs now! Primark trainer socks

Primark. They have rubber type grippy stuff on the heal.

Teapleasebobb · 16/09/2023 21:07

OMG I need these too! I had found said holy grail in invisible trainer socks, from Primark of all places, they were amazing! They never slipped off! They've now stopped making them. I've tried a few pairs from other places and they're all rubbish.

Can you still get these? I've been trying for the last 3-4 months in several Primark stores but they don't have them in anymore.

Primark mesh trainer socks. I am an addict 😬

Me too. They are fabulous. Wearing some right now.

xyz111 · 16/09/2023 21:37

Under armour ones or Nike. I live in them!

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 16/09/2023 23:51

Primark

supertiredallthetime · 17/09/2023 00:06

Primark ones were recommended to me on here before and they're amazing! Checked out all my others.

Wolvesart · 17/09/2023 00:21

Primark for the tiny and more invisible ones. Puma for the soft no rubber with more structured trainers ones. The Puma invisible ones are very elasticated and can be a bit much in hot weather. They do stay put though

DupontsYellowDressingGown · 17/09/2023 00:27

Muji or Sweaty Betty. I find tumble drying them damages the elastic so they start to fall so just stick them on the line now.

NeedTheSeaside · 17/09/2023 08:25

solidarity & slight hijack!

I bought some in 2016 from sketchers in the states, they are brilliant! But now threadbare.

the ones from sketchers here were not.

I've tried various ones and can't find any that stay put!

im a size 3, so I try to buy childrens ones, adult ones are just too big.

can anyone recommend any??

Puffypuffin · 17/09/2023 09:36

I found trainer socks in Tesco last week - they have memory foam on the ball and heel and look a bit weird, but my god my day traipsing around Paris was a whole lot more comfortable. AND they were invisible under by 327's! £6 for two pairs.

superstar63 · 17/09/2023 10:16

I am looking for some that are quite thick and low cut for more plimsol/canvas shoes rather than trainers as they are a bit too big so need the extra cushioning and also have size 8 feet and find most slip off as theya re just not big enough?

I have size 7 feet and sometimes buy men's socks. Primark women's socks are sized 4-8 and the smaller men's at 6-10 (I think). There are lots of different versions - some thick, some really thin.

edit: you don't often get really low cut ones in the men's sizes though

Have you heard of hipSwan? They have a cushioned no-show sock and also a cushioned low-cut trainer sock. They are a little pricey but use organic cotton and are a UK based brand.

chill - organic combed cotton no-show socks

about me Hey there, I’m “chill” the no-show sock. They say I’m the shy one of the bunch because I keep a low profile, but I prefer to think that I go about my business without fanfare. Here’s why you should take me home with you: I’m designed to stay u...

Sweaty Betty are the best. I have tried them all. Nothing annoys me more than a sock that slips off within 5 minutes.

EquallyDetermined · 13/08/2024 06:29

Perhaps because it's an old thread?

Wildermess · 13/08/2024 06:34

Hah! That might be it.

I’ll blame the person who revived it last night.
